Other great features which make BTVSolo easy to use include quantizing (your notes snap into place—or not, depending on your preference), adjustable bar length, record mode, swing, and easy tempo changes. You can set delay, reverb, attack, decay, sustain and release for every sound you build into your tracks—that includes drum-kit sounds and instrumental sounds! You can also control pitch bending, pan sounds to the left or right (we’re talking about stereo sound here), and manipulate the cutoff and resonance. Custom Drum Kits?
A lot of music production software comes equipped only with pre-set drum kits, but with BTVSolo you can build your very own custom drum kits using the included sample libraries or your own sounds. There is literally no limit to what you can create. Building the kits is easy—just click and drag sounds in and place them where you want to assign them. Once you’ve built your drum kit you can continue to edit it to perfection or you can press on to making the music!

The drum kits aren’t all you can customize in BTVSolo; you can also work in custom instrument mode! While BTVSolo comes with a vast library of sounds, you are never confined to what comes with the program. You can assign any sounds from your hard drive to the instrument keys—and you can even include different sounds for different keys on the same instrument. How many programs offer you that kind of flexibility? Not many! And rarely do you find so much flexibility in any music production program which is also so easy to use.
Once you’ve built up your patterns using the drum kits and instrument keys, you can then set them up quickly and easily to loop as many times as you want on the finalization screen. The Quick Effects panel is always at your disposal; this panel allows you to preview any channel, pad, or sound that you want super fast. Mod and pitch wheels allow you even greater flexibility with your production. Once you’ve finished creating your music, you can export your work as high quality .WAV or .AIFF files. These same formats are available for you to use when you import sounds—this means you work with only stellar quality sound from start to finish.
